چکیده

Abstract Banana is cultivated abundantly in seaside regions, which are highly prone to rises sea level or where seawater mixes with groundwater. This study aimed investigate the effect of sea-salt stress on banana seedlings. Three different saline solutions, irrigation water, and distilled water were prepared for treatments; 15.3 dS m -1 , 20.4 25.7 3.22 (irrigation water), 0.0 (control), respectively. Although there was no statistical difference plant length after treatment, diameter observed seedlings subjected salt 30 days. The most damaged leaves (4.8) determined at highest solution (25.7 ). Compared root (RL) results control, treatments, mean RL significantly higher treatment (40.0 cm). Except 20.40 other treatments had values close each other. Contrary total chlorophyll (TC) fluorescence (CF) control plants, TC content CF found 34.8 mg g Fw 46.0, levels malondialdehyde (MDA) proline than treatments. Results demonstrated that Grand Nain cultivar increased although negative effects morphology biochemical content, indicating it could adapt short-term stress.

Genome-wide analysis of transcription factors during somatic embryogenesis in banana (Musa spp.) cv. Grand Naine

Transcription factors BABY BOOM (BBM), WUSCHEL (WUS), BSD, LEAFY COTYLEDON (LEC), LEAFY COTYLEDON LIKE (LIL), VIVIPAROUS1 (VP1), CUP SHAPED COTYLEDONS (CUC), BOLITA (BOL), and AGAMOUS LIKE (AGL) play a crucial role in somatic embryogenesis. In this study, we identified eighteen genes of these nine transcription factors families from the banana genome database. All genes were analyzed for their ...
